Indiana University paid tribute to IU football legend George Taliaferro, who passed away in October, and IU President McRobbie announced that the plaza outside the north end of Indiana Memorial Stadium will be named the George Taliaferro Plaza and a statue will be erected in his honor.

On IU Day, the university announced a landmark $20 million gift from Sidney and Lois Eskenazi. Their gift was the largest in the history of the School of Art, Architecture + Design and supports student scholarships, faculty development, various academic programs and additional facilities for the school. In recognition of their generosity and longstanding commitment to IU and the arts, the school was renamed in their honor.
